Several of you blog readers use a site that notifies you of changes to the blogs of your friends. That way, you don't have to log in at Blogger and check blogs day after day (or several times a day) to see if others have made an entry.
These types of sites either send you an email with an alert of a new post or actually send you the post (with or without pictures.) Some are much better than others.
To those of you using these services: Would you please share which site you use? And, would you please share why you do (or do not) enjoy that particular site's features? Please include the site address, if possible, so others may check it out!

All I do is go around to the blogs here on Blogger that I want to read regularly and click the RSS Feed (orange) button on the top of the Internet Explorer browser. Then I set my Outlook email to show my feeds which are all the blogs. Does that make sense? Or was that not what you were asking?
That makes sense. I was under the impression that different folks do it in different ways. I was just wondering...
They do I'm sure. As long as you're subscribed to someone's feed, I think there's a bunch of ways to see them. I do know you can use Internet Explorer and, of course, Outlook.
I use Google Reader. google.com/reader
I inserted the url of the blogs I want to check, then when I check the Google Reader page, it shows my list, and the number of updates since I last read each one. It will show the text and pictures on that page if you desire, or you can click through to the formatted/decorated page.
I heard about this site, and never checked any other type of feed.
I guess I'm not a serious enough blog reader to have ever bothered to think about those types of things. Maybe one day I'll take the leap - but it isn't likely! :)
I use Google Reader. It's very user-friendly and once you get your subscriptions set up (which is click and paste simple) it's a convenient one-stop shop for seeing who's updated their blogs. And if there's a post you want to comment on, it's just a click away.
There's also a tool called Sage that I started to use, but ended up liking Google Reader better. There's also one called Bloglines I know some people use and are happy with it.
If you have more than a handful of blogs you'd like to keep updated on, I recommend giving it a try - it's free and since you're on Blogger you already have a Google account. (http://www.google.com/reader)
I do not think that I can help you in any way because I have an Apple computer and they are really different from PCs :( Sorry about that.
Hey Strem! This is showjumper a.k.a "it's a Barn Life" I've had to start over, and I would really appreciate it if you would visit my blog and share it with others! thanks.
No matter if one has a Mac or a PC, these services should work for both.
I was just asking because I use Bloglines. One of the ladies in the embroidery group told me about it last month... and right away, I went out to search for it. I forgot the exact site name she told me, but I found it anyway... and last week, she confirmed that I found the exact one she described.
It horrified me a few weeks ago when I realized many people might be receiving an email/update of the first version I post. No matter how hard I try to proofread before publishing, I always find more errors (mostly due to fast typing) when I go to my blog page. There's something about those white letters against the dark green background (and no HTML), I guess, that makes it much easier to read. So, I started not even trying to proofread at all until after publishing.... then going back to correct the mistakes. That is, until the notion of all of you receiving error-filled messages hit me.
So, now, I promise to try (TRY REALLY HARD!) to proofread completely before publishing. And, I promise I do know how to spell corectly.
Wish there was some way to prevent the notifying sites from notifying until I was ready for them to be sent out. :)
I didn't realize that we could do that, I do the same proof read thing. That is the one thing from myspace that I wish was here, subscribing to blogs and seeing comment updates from folks.
